Praying For Stellan

27th July 2009 | 2 Comments

Please lift Stellan up in prayer. He’s not doing well right now and I’ve spent most of my day reloading mycharmingkids.net and praying for Stellan. This family really seems amazing and my prayer is that Stellan’s heart will be fully healed and they can go home and live happily ever after.

I am very thankful that [...]

Cute Things My Kids Say

25th July 2009 | 2 Comments

Sanura:
As she was dragging Nevaeh by one arm I said, “Don’t drag your sister by one arm, you’re going to hurt her” and she said, ” Can I drag her by two arms?”
We were driving down the road and I saw a guy in a cowboy hat riding a horse. To excite the kids I [...]

Tidbits From Our Week

22nd July 2009 | 2 Comments

Adrian has been so aggresive this week. He kicked Sanura in the stomach the other night and then did the same to Nevaeh within ten minutes. He’ll give hugs afterwards and I think he feels bad but it’s got to stop.
Adrian rides the bus with elementary students who are also attending summer school so [...]

20th July 2009 | 1 Comment

If you haven’t tried sign language with your kids, neurotypical or otherwise, you should!!
Sign Language is a wonderful tool and I have had great success with it.
When we learned Adrian had autism and learned that communication was going to be a major issue for him we started looking into alternative ways for him to [...]

At Grandma’s

18th July 2009 | 0 Comments

We were out at my mom’s house yesterday and my mom had commented how well behaved the kids were. All of them, and it’s true…they are very good kids. They do as they’re told, they don’t talk back, hit, or act disrespectful. I’m very proud of them.
Adrian got a little rowdy. I think he was [...]

Is it Cold in Here, or is it Just Me?

14th July 2009 | 4 Comments

A new fascination for the kids. It was all started by Sanura who decided it would be a good idea to take 3 containers (why 3? I have no idea) and put water in them and put some Cherrios in them and freeze them and then look at them the next day.
Ok, I thought this [...]

Looking at the Bright Side

13th July 2009 | 1 Comment

You may wonder: “What the heck is the bright side of getting stung by a bunch of bees?”
Yes, my poor Adrian got stung six times yesterday in our backyard when he, unbeknownst to him, jostled a bee gathering (hive??, not sure we didn’t see one and matter of fact we aren’t 100% sure that they [...]

Board Games

12th July 2009 | 3 Comments

Everyone likes a good board game every now and then I think. I am a big fan. It seems though every time I get one down the kids would much rather play with the pieces then let me help them actually play the game. We have a huge stack of board games up above the [...]
