My name is Joy and I am a stay at home wife and mom of five children. I am passionate about autism awareness and connecting with other parents dealing with autism. I am very supportive of large families, breastfeeding, and natural childbirth. I enjoy crocheting, bible study, writing, and spending as much time as I can with my husband and kids. This is my wonderful husband Glen, we just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary in September. Glen is a system administrator and also runs his own computer business on the side. He’s very busy but always makes time for me and our kids.

Sanura is our oldest child.Sanura is 12 years old and is in the 6th grade. She enjoys reading, playing on the wii, drawing,swinging at the playground, listening to music and swimming in the summertime. Sanura was evaluated for an autism spectrum disorder in February 2011. On October 18, 2011 we got the final report from her evaluation and Sanura has been diagnosed with mild Aspergers Syndrome.

Adrian is in third grade and he is nine years old. Adrian is in a special needs class with children in grades 3-5, there are eight children and three teachers. Adrian was diagnosed with classic autism in April of 2006. Adrian enjoys superheros, especially Spiderman. Adrian loves to draw, play on the computer, and play at the park.
His language is developing, we have a long road a head but I am confident he will continue to move forward and amaze us everyday. He is a ray of sunshine to me.

Nevaeh is six years old. Nevaeh loves everything girly including the Pinkalcious books, jewelry, Barbie, Disney Princesses, and the color pink. Nevaeh loves to talk about anything and everything and is very rarely quiet. Nevaeh is very smart and filled to the brim with charisma. Nevaeh is in Kindergarten and is rapidly making progress with her math and reading!

Lincoln is four years old. Lincoln is currently in special needs preschool classroom 4 days per week. Lincoln is not diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder at this time, an evaluation for that may happen in the next year depending on his progress.Lincoln loves the Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See books, playing with see and says, and playing at the park.

And our newest addition Charlotte (or Charlie for short) was born on February 12, 2013. So far she just likes to nurse, kick around, and coo at us. She’s pretty awesome.
